Marshmello to Perform at UEFA Champions League Final

Marshmello will score big if he headlines the opening service of their UEFA World Champions League Final after this month.

Occurring in Porto, Portugal on May 29, the game between Manchester City and Chelsea (both English Premiership teams) will be started by a six-minute virtual performance by the EDM star, with added specific guests to be announced in the forthcoming weeks.

At a preview clip to its functionality, Marshmello can be observed deliberating between towns to the game, with places suggestions coming from some of the biggest stars of the sport — including Argentine icon Lionel Messi, French star Paul Pogba and English player Jadon Sancho — while ‘Mello’s 2020 Juice Wrld collab “Come & Go” plays in the background. The 2021 UEFA World Champions League Final was initially scheduled to take place at Istanbul’s Atatürk Stadium, but had been moved to Portugal on May 13 after the U.K. listed Istanbul on its “reddish list” of COVID-19 travel destinations, which could have meant that fans from the U.K. would not have been able to attend.

According to a statement in the Union of European Football Associations, the organization “discussed going the game to England however, despite exhaustive attempts on the part of the Football Association and the authorities, it was not possible to attain the necessary exemptions from U.K. quarantine structures. ” Portugal stays on the U.K.’s green list, meaning enthusiasts could go to the nation for the game.
