Marshmello and Demi Lovato team up for new awareness song ‘OK Not To Be OK’
The track has been released in partnership with all not-for-profit agency Hope for the Day, that increases awareness and dialogue around suicide prevention and mental health education.
According to a press release, the song — penned by Gregory “Aldae” Hein, James Gutch and James Nicholas Bailey — serves “as a humbling reminder that it’so ok to give up feelings of self-doubt and embrace the reality that we’re all human”.
The Hannah Lux Davis-directed music movie sees Marshmello and Lovato transported to their childhood bedrooms in the 90s, only for the duo to be faced with younger, more risky variations of these.

According to the press launch, Marshmello and Lovato will probably be using their respective programs to “uplift other people and help provide tools for those that desire it most” as part of the partnership together with Hope for the Day.

Lovato has addressed their very own struggles with depression and eating disorders previously, such as in that her 2017 documentary Simply Complicated.
